I went to this exhibit at the Met about a month ago. You’re not allowed to take photographs but that never stopped me and my trusty iPhone. I’ve attached the photos below. It was a beautiful exhibit, the best I’ve ever seen. Andrew Bolton is an absolutely amazing curator – the ambience, lighting, and placement were all perfect. And the clothes were of course beautiful. Alexander McQueen was an artist, not just a designer that bent to the will of the masses. There are stories behind his designs and it’s very upsetting that such great talent is no longer amongst us.

Gone for a minute…

June 3, 2011

Sorry it’s been so long I just didn’t have time or didn’t feel like it…I felt that laying on the couch watching tv was more productive. So lets catch up shall we..

Love life:

TM and I are no more…we’re both bi-polar and psychotic and decided to treat each other like shit. I think it ended sometime in mid April. He was really adamant about us staying friends. Our friendship has also been on and off. I told him to stop messaging me so I could get over it so he stopped for 3 days then decided to fb chat me because he was “bored”. Out of his 1,000 fb friends he decided to message the person who told him not to message her – wtf. Then I told him again so he decided to defriend me so I decided to message him and then he called me crazy. Then 2 days later we made up and yesterday he decided to freak out over school and guess who he calls? Me! When I freak out about stuff guess who I call? Not him! We also had the 1st day of class together last night and I was a little late walking in so I just sat in the front and 5 seconds later he messages me “miss hot shit is too cool to sit next to me” and then continued to message me during the entire class, hang out with me during break, and then wait for me after class. I gave him a look like what are you doing, then he got all pissed off and left. Then before really leaving he came by and I went kind of full bitch mode on him because AM was there and 30 seconds later he sends me a text being all girly and whining about why I was such a bitch and then I called him and we made up. Can you say dysfunctional?

Speaking of dysfunctional this other French guy who I used to flirt with but haven’t spoken to in months (the photographer guy) decided to message me today and tell me his grandfather died and how he’s all depressed and now he’s going outside to take photographs for me. Uhm do I have a sign on my head saying call me when in crisis?

SC and I are also done. He’s too suicidal for my taste, he told  me he had tried to kill himself again a few months ago and every time I hung out with him it made me think of TM sooo needed to get away from that.

I met a French guy at Lavo Friday night. I haven’t been around French men in a long time so I had forgotten how they’re in love and calling you baby within 10 minutes. The irony here is that he facebook friended me and I look on his wall and first thing I see is a wall post from Rudy. Rudy is SD’s friend who was there on Halloween at Lavo when I made an ass out of myself and who I ran into in Paris only to be reminded of what an ass I made out of myself. So lets see how long it takes for the other shoe to drop here.

School:

School is fine. I got my grades back for this semester. I updated my transcript and basically my 1st semester cumulative gpa was a 2.1 and every semester since it’s been a 3.5. Typically Chloe needs to f up in the beginning in order to get her shit together.

Work:

I’m back at the law firm I used to work at for the summer. It’s fine, they’re actually giving me legal work. Well SJG is giving me his legal work and I’m just doing it haha. My brother started working here also, he’s like the next AD I think. I walk by and everyone else is on the internet and he’s actually working and the only times he stops is when he comes by my desk to chat with me. So basically AD 2.0.

Other stuff:

I’ve just been working and going out. I’m happy and carefree…I know that sounds really cliché but that’s the truth. Like I’m not stressed out about school or boys or money right now, I’m just having fun and it’s awesome!

Went to see Giselle at the American Ballet Theater Friday night with my parents and my brother. It was really great…it took me a while to get into it in the beginning but once I did it was great. I especially loved the second act, the costumes were more my taste. The American Ballet Theater dancers were also terrific, they were actually much better than the NYC Ballet dancers who are also spectacular. I don’t know if I blogged about this before but I also saw Swan Lake a few months ago performed by the NYC Ballet and loved that too. I can’t decide which one was my favorite. My mom cried at both, she’s so dramatic…I wonder where I get it from.

Went to see the McQueen Savage Beauty Exhibit at the MET with L and MVP a few weeks ago. It was probably the best exhibit I’ve ever seen. Beautiful clothes and the lighting, placement, and ambience were all perfect. I’ll write another post about this and put up pictures I took even though you’re not allowed to. I’m going again with my mom before it closes.

Went to see L’amour Fou with L about 2 weeks ago. It’s a documentary about YSL. L loved it, me not so much. It was kind of boring and not really focusing on the clothes…I actually liked the Valentino documentary better even though he’s super gaudy sometimes. I don’t know I guess it depends on your own personal style. L likes old fashioned and toned down and hates the new stuff. I personally play both sides of the field but I think I really love color and fashion that resembles art…YSL’s documentary didn’t really have much of that but then again neither did his brand.

I can’t really think of anything else that’s happened so I’ll write more when it does.

Xx

Andy Warhol -

That’s Great by Ron Galella February 10- April 11, 2010

“THAT’S GREAT!”, a selection of Andy Warhol images by his favorite photographer, legendary paparazzo Ron Galella. Marking the 23rd anniversary of Warhol’s death in February 1987, this is a phenomenal opportunity to pick up a print of one twentieth century icon shot by another. Ron Galella has been shooting celebrities since the 1960s and his photographs are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, and the Helmut Newton Foundation Gallery in Berlin. He is the subject of forthcoming documentary SMASH HIS CAMERA, about which VANITY FAIR said “There may be no better way to observe celebrity culture than through the lens of Ron Galella.”

Victor Demarchelier – Creating Images

March 3 – April 5

VICTOR DEMARCHELIER’S meticulous still lives and elegant figure studies are concerned with the abstract interplay of lines and shapes, of empty and filled space. These black-and-white photographs are small masterpieces, reminiscent of the studio work of Irving Penn. CREATING IMAGES, a mix of his work from fashion shoots and personal projects, includes several pieces from Demarchelier’s photographic collaborations with model Caroline Trentini.

At only 25, VICTOR DEMARCHELIER is at the beginning of what is sure to be an impressive career. His photographs have been published in Vogue and Paris Vogue. In 2008 he held his solo debut at the Karl Hutter Gallery in Los Angeles and in 2009 he participated in a group show at the Mina Gallery in New York.

God Save McQueen

February 12, 2010

Today is a very sad day. Alexander McQueen committed suicide by hanging himself in his London apartment just 1 month before he was to show at Paris Fashion Week. I really like McQueen as a designer he was very original and fresh. Unlike some designers whose work looks fairly similar to others this was not the case with McQueen. I’ve been frowning all day, I really couldn’t wait until some of the old designers (hint hint Karl) waived goodbye and McQueen and my boyfriend, Ghesquiere took over the fashion world but alas it was not meant to be.

Barely Private

December 22, 2009

I randomly went by Milk Gallery this morning and stumbled upon the “Barely Private” by Sante D’Orazio exhibit. If you have a thing for naked photographs as art like I do you will love this. It’s basically photographs of models, musicians, and actors. It was very strange because I felt with every photo you took one step forward and with the next you took a step back over the porn vs art line that divides raunchy photographs. It will be showing at Milk Gallery in meatpacking till January 5th, I strongly recommend you see it. Featured are some of my likes and dislikes. I loved the photo of the girl in the catsuit with the devil horns but I have no idea who she is. And I beyond loved the photo of Christy Turlington, she’s so naturally beautiful and the photo itself is just pure and beautiful. I hated the photo of Eva Mendez, it’s too much. It’s not like she has a soft face, the scowl only made it worse.PS props to whoever set the photos up at Milk.

K. Lagerfeld

October 12, 2009

Karl Lagerfeld in Lagerfeld Confidential thanked god for prostitution, the oldest profession in the world, or the people who needed release would turn into murderers.

Then he went on to say “we can’t all afford a mistress or an expensive friend”.

My brother didn’t get the last part and thought it referred to a girl that you bought and just stayed with you. LOL

Boom!

September 23, 2009

I have a thing for fragrances, a very specific thing. To the point where I get obsessed….

I had been coveting the perfume Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf for quite some time now and finally I decided to stop being a bum and went and got it.

It’s an orgasm for the nose, there’s no better way to describe it!!!

Portrait Cufflinks!!!

April 30, 2009

portrait-cufflinks_48

The other day I was talking about cufflinks in my post Pour Homme: Deux and today I ran across a page talking about Portrait Cufflinks. Apparently you can send in your headshots and they will make cufflinks of either gold, silver, white gold, or platinum for you. If you are not that big of a narcissist they can also make them of  someone famous or your spouse etc. How fun!
